Gabby's Top Surgery Fund

Hi, my name is Yz and for my birthday this year, I am raising funds for my partner Gabby’s top surgery costs. Gabby, is an amazing non-binary human being and is slated to have their gender-affirming surgery on May 9th of this year!

Instead of a gift, I would love to ask you, my friends, for donations to help cover the cost of Gabby’s procedure and post-surgery care. Any donation would immensely help Gabby afford living expenses as they will be on bed rest and unable to work during their month-long recovery.

I am hoping to relieve Gabby of emotional and financial stress during one of the most critical moments of their life. Since coming out as non-binary in 2020, Gabby has grown to love themselves despite years of dysphoria and personal hurdles. As their partner, I have watched them grow more authentically into themselves in the past few years and understand how important it is for them to live a full and honest life.

They recently moved from their legislatively conservative hometown in Ohio to be closer to queer communities and job opportunities in New York City. As transgender and non-binary lives become increasingly targeted and under national scrutiny, the medical and financial barriers for gender-affirming care have risen. After finding a surgeon for Gabby, we discovered that, unfortunately, Gabby's health insurance from their home state denies coverage for trans healthcare. It is my hope that the cost of living in an expensive city and the limitations of our healthcare system does not deny Gabby the life-affirming procedure they need.

Amidst all of this, it is incredible to see Gabby take this leap and come into their own. Their growth as a human and as my partner has been a wonder to witness. It is why I love them. Nothing would make me happier than to see Gabby happy and living their best life in the body they have wanted for a very long time. Your donation, however big or small, can make that a possibility.

"Since I can remember I have always felt like my body didn’t match who I was. My chest has been the main focus of my dysphoria for my whole life. This caused me years of anxiety, depression and nearly no confidence unless I was wearing baggy clothing that hid my chest and hips. It has caused me to quit sports that I loved, back pain from bad posture trying to hide my chest, and the mental strain of feeling like there was something wrong with me for years. This led me to consider pursuing top surgery. Now, after two and a half years of exploring options, I have finally found a surgeon who will help me get top surgery! I am ecstatic to say that I will officially be boobie-free on May 9th of this year! Having top surgery will help me feel more like ME. It will boost my confidence and allow me to live in a body that aligns with my gender. I am a proud trans nonbinary person with a loving partner. But to get that confidence and sense of self I need help from my friends, family and anyone else willing to help."
