So,quite a few of you are aware of my recent involvement, through facebook,of trying to get a certain family who have been left in a rather large hole with uncompleted building works and quite a few thousands of pounds out of pocket, who have strived to save to get not only this extension done, but also a downstairs wet room for their 28 year old autistic son,who can manage to make it up the stairs with effort, but on occasions has had to literally be carried up the stairs (which is not even a thought by the property owners for some years due to funds),enabling him and the family a much needed, easier and relaxed way of life?
But the rug was pulled from under their feet, leaving them not only out of pocket, but also of not knowing where to turn for help and with it a dark blanket of depression.
After speaking to the house owners on my original first visit ( 1st December 2020) to do a £100 repair job on the main roof,I left with quite a large lump in my throat and a feeling of not being able to just walk away.
That evening I put a post on my facebook, the very next day a wave of people had commented offering help, materials and more. Was absolutely overwhelming and appreciated by myself and the house owners!
A task of where, (with the help of others,I could not of done this on my own) was hoping to maybe have completed for them by christmas soon became apparent was not achievable, but progress has been made massively already!
This is still an ongoing project, and will be into the new year also.
Quite a few have mentioned about setting up this,as wish to help with funding even if they cannot do anything at the actual property itself etc.
Which is why,I have started this to hopefully give them a little something to help finish the extension and perhaps even get some tiles etc towards their were room also once we are done on the extension?
What with all the doom and gloom going on right now with covid, and not being able to enjoy christmas with family or friends etc....seems pretty irrelevant compared to this lovely family and what they have been through!
Starting this year, believing it was going to be the one and maybe make it big time! To realising how grateful and lucky I am to have who and what I already do.
Hopefully, what with a little donation perhaps, can be a little ray of hope through these times for this family?
Thankyou.
Ian
