Chris Medical

I am asking for financial assistance and for prayers for my son, Chris, and his wife.    Chris was an elite athlete for OSU and East Coast Gold Weightlifting from 1998 - 2013. Over his 15 year career he competed in the Olympic Trials in 2004 & 2008, was on the World Weightlifting Championships team in 2007 and was inducted into the Ohio Weightlifting Hall of Fame in 2018. He has enjoyed a very productive career in the field of IT reaching the level of Director in 2014 and graduated from the CIO Certification program from Carnegie Melon University. Up until the end of 2018 he was an active member of his church, community and overall active in life. Since then things have dramatically changed.   His most chronic pain and issues have developed over the last 6-8 months. During this time he has lost 30 pounds in the past 3 months and overall weight loss has been progressive and rapid to the point where he continues to loose .4 - .6 lbs per day totaling 55 pounds of solid muscle since he has lost the ability to eat normally in 2015.  He currently weighs 110lbs. This is precipitated by the inability to eat any quantity of food or speak. He was previously put on medication for migraines and eye issues that caused severe withdraw. He has neurological issues that are continual and make it difficult to focus or concentrate for any amount of time. He has issues swallowing anything including water without pain. His jaw and neck are in constant pain. He was scheduled to see a TMJ specialist but have been unable to due to the out of pocket expense not covered by insurance. He has constant severe dry eyes,  dry mouth and dry skin as well. He has severe nausea from eating or from not eating. When He does eat it must be something plain and soft. He is unable to eat more than [phone redacted] calories a day due to feeling full with a small amount of food. About an hr after eating anything He is hit with severe nausea. This causes him to take minimal medication for nausea which cause a whole host of neurological issues but he is unable to take any pain medication of any type. With additional hip and back issues from his extensive weightlifting career several spinal and hip surgeries are a good probability. These issues cause immense pain sitting, standing, and sleeping. They also cause shock waves to wash over him and waking him up several times during sleep. He walks with a cane just to help with stability. With all of these medical issues he has been unable to work after being terminate illegally November 2018 when the back issues first came to light and surgery was disclosed. He currently has 7 specialist that are working with him on various issues and also include doctors such a neuromuscular diseases specialist who is looking at the medical issues as a whole. He has an upcoming upper GI scope, Skin cell biopsy nerve study test and autonomic nervous system tilt table test. There is continue treatment from his ENT for injections into his mouth, jaw and neck. Also he sees an orthopedist specialist who does injections into his hips and spine.  His ongoing treatment continues to add up and while he has medical insurance for now his out of pocket expenses have exceeded $7,000 and will continue to build as they seek treatments. His wife is also currently laid off.   Updates will be added as more tests, treatments and doctors are added.
