Transportation for Natalie
Donation protected
Let us just start by saying, this request is way over due.
Those of you that know Natalie Wilcut know that she is an angel sent from heaven. Natalie was born with Down Syndrome and a personality that brings joy to everyone. Just after her 8th birthday, Natalie suffered a life altering stroke. Since that time, she has been dependent on using her wheelchair to get around.
As Natalie gets older, the process of transferring her into her wheelchair and onto the car seat, that she has undoubtedly outgrown, has become increasingly more difficult, nearly impossible at this point. Michele, her mother, works tirelessly to make sure Natalie has her needs met 24/7. Natalie is now 16 years old and because of her need for a five point harness, Michele is not able to transport her anywhere. Natalie is able to attend school (once it reopens) because the wheelchair accessible bus comes and picks her up. However, with the exception of school, Natalie must stay home. She can’t visit her Marco family, she can’t attend church, and she can’t run errands with her mom. We have missed Natalie at too many holidays or family dinners because she didn’t have transportation.
Michele has faced many challenges in the last 15 years. Many. She is a fighter. She is a saint. She counts her blessings everyday and is extremely grateful for everything she has. She understands that transporting Natalie would be a luxury, a bonus, if you will. However, we see Natalie’s need for transportation as a necessity. Something that would not only make their lives easier, but would allow Natalie the opportunity to go visit family, attend church and participate in life.
Here’s where the plea comes in: We would like to raise enough money to buy Michele a wheelchair accessible van. Not just for her, but for Natalie. If you know Michele and her family, than you know they are the most selfless people imaginable. They have done so much for so many people. We would like to take this opportunity to do something for them, and we’d like to give other people the opportunity to pay it forward. Even if it’s just a small amount, it could go a long way. A wheelchair accessible van costs around $30,000. We are looking to raise at least enough to make a reasonable down payment. Michele and Natalie did not ask for this rocky path in life, but we would like to help make it a smooth ride. Please consider donating what you can.
Much love and appreciation,
Tony and Calee Marco
