Yuki's Last Chance
Donation protected
Yuki is a wonderful dog that's already gotten a second chance at life. She started out as a parvo pup with a neglectful owner who kept her in a crate and found her useless once she was told by the vet that due to her suffering from parvo she should never be bred. The owner contacted the breeder to return the dog. The breeder couldn't take her in and so she contacted the best dog owner she could thing of for help. This is where my sister stepped in.
At a moment's notice, to help a dog in need she drove across the country to get Yuki. Yuki was 11 months old, skinny, malnourished and had callouses and sores from being crated for so much of her young life. My sister rehabilitated the dog and gave her the absolute best of everything for the past three years.
To my sister Yuki is not just a dog, she's one of her three kids. This dog is family. Over the past few days Yuki seemed suddenly not herself. She rapidly declined and her chest started filling up with fluid. After being rushed to the best emergency vet Yuki was diagnosed with the chronic condition of dilated cardiomyopathy or DCM for short. She needed emergency surgery costing $2600 to put in a drain to save her life. To treat the DCM she will need $350-500 of monthly medication in addition to supplements.
The real kicker is my sister just recently lost her job due to covid and her husband is about to be laid off due to covid as well. Due to their current financial situation they had just terminated their pet insurance policy in an attempt to find a cheaper option. Yuki and her family desperately need our help.
Anything you can give will be helpful in giving this dog a shot at surviving this terrible disease, which her family simply cannot afford to handle right now.
