Yurts for Full-Time Outdoor Education in Columbia!

City Garden School is taking a brave leap to an outdoor based learning model starting this fall! We've been learning outdoors this year because of Covid and have seen and felt the beautiful impact of nature-based learning on our students' educational experiences. We want to continue learning outdoors and to do that effectively, we need classroom spaces for each class where we can escape cold or wet weather! We have already raised $12,000 toward our ultimate goal of purchasing 4 yurts. We hope to raise funds to purchase 2 beautiful yurts with this fundraiser where our students can learn and grow.


City Garden offers holistic, nurturing education for first through fifth graders in Columbia, MO. This offering feels even more important in the world we live in today. Children need to feel safe, loved, and inspired while they are at school. We strive to be accessible as we provide a tiered tuition model as well as financial aid.  68% of our families utilize our financial assistance programs.

We know that learning in nature is best for children's academic, social emotional, and personal development. We are excited to make full time outdoor elementary learning a reality in mid-Missouri!
