My name is Katie Offiler, and I am an 18 year old Musical Theatre and Dance Student appealing for your help to enable me to secure my place at one of London's top Dance and Drama Schools.
Educated to A Level at The Joseph Whitaker School, I have always had a passion for Dance and Drama. My Dance career started at the age of 5 at the Ravenshead School of Dance. I began Musical Theatre Training with Funky Studios, Mansfield in 2013, and this year will graduate from their one year Intensive Drama School Preparation course. "The I.D.S.P." I am now ready to move to the next level of training to achieve my ambition of becoming a diverse performer, and ultimately have a sucessful career in my chosen art form.
WHY DO I NEED TO RAISE FUNDS
I have been awarded one of 90 places out of 1500 applicants on the Trinity Professional Dance and Musical Theatre Diploma at The Urdang Academy, London, for which there was a rigourous audition process. I honestly didn't think I had a shot at getting in. Opportunities like this do not happen to people like me!
However, now I need to raise £12,000 for my first year of training along with living costs. This is due to not being able to receive student finance for the Diploma.
WHY URDANG?
For the last 5 years this has been my number one choice of Dance and Drama school. Over 95% of graduates go straight into the industry, appearing in the West End, X-Factor, Brit Awards, TV and Films. Urdang will enable me to train in all three disciplines of Acting, Singing and Dance for me to become a triple threat!
HOW WILL I RAISE THE MONEY AND HOW CAN YOU HELP?
I have a business plan to raise the funding which includes Charities and Trusts, Fundraising events, sales of merchandise, sponsorship, loans and income from employment. I am looking for Local companies to sponsor me and provide me with a logo to be used on all fundraising material. Attend one of my fundraising events- "watch this space".
Anyone who knows me, knows how much this means for me to get here, so please guys if you can donate anything it all helps! I will appreciate it massively and keep you up to date with my progress.
