Yvette "Cherry" Perry cancer fight
Donation protected
Yvette "Cherry" Perry is my wife and mother to my 3 kids, our youngest is 8. She was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer in Feb. The cancer has spread to her liver and peritoneum. She is undergoing chemo now. The plan is to shrink the tumors enough to hopefully try other therapies.
I am the singer in Cherry Poppin Daddies. My wife Yvette is the beautiful woman in the video. She stars in a number of our videos. Now that she has been stricken, I am currently unable to work (playing music), as my new job is to be her healthcare advocate, her primary care provider and Dad/household manager for her and our littlest one.
We plan to use any funds we raise to: take care of household costs, pay for treatment, and also toward getting her in the vicinity of a clinical trial down the line that might save her life.
I realize that this is the beginning of a marathon. Bills are coming our way already. My wife and I are proud, self sufficient people and it makes me sick to be typing anything like this, but this is where fate has put us.
In the past few days, I have received so much in the way of prayers, hopeful stories and good wishes. Community has found us. This is the greatest thing, a heart melting gift that we continue to get by the moment.
Myself, I am already forever altered inside regarding the inherent goodness of people. This is a transformative event that inspires me to strive to be the best version of myself I can. I vow to pay these kindnesses forward when I am able in the future.
The arts have always been the rock for both my wife and myself. Its been a tough, but rewarding life. Through the arts, we have been blessed to find you, our support system of warm-hearted, kindred spirits. Truth, beauty and gestures of human kindness live forever.
Thanks,
Steve
