Yvette's Rally Against Cancer

In mid August,  my mammogram revealed an abnormality in one of my breasts and this abnormality turned out to be invasive ductal carcinoma.  I underwent bilateral mastectomy at the end of September; one breast removed due to cancer and the other breast removed as a preventative measure, as breast-ovarian cancer runs in my family.  Both my mother and my sister succumbed to breast-ovarian cancer.  

Unfortunately, the breast that was thought to be non-cancerous has invasive ductal carcinoma, as well.  In a few days, I am having lymph nodes removed on both sides and will be preparing for chemotherapy and radiation therapy for my bilateral breast cancer.  

This has been a difficult time emotionally and financially. Taking the time away from my business  to fight cancer and heal from the treatment will take a toll.  My husband, Jimmy, has taken time from his business to help me, and he has had his unfair share of health problems this year requiring him to take time off.   When it rains, it pours!

I have quite a fight ahead of me!  Fortunately, I have a wonderful supportive family and group of friends that I hold dear.
