Put’em up Dukes!!!

In the early hours of Thursday, April 30th, Jamie awoke to her husband, Brad Dukes, experiencing a grand mal seizure – he was brought to Methodist Hospital by ambulance for further treatment and testing to determine the cause of the seizure. TheMRI results revealed that Brad has a 7mm tumor in his brain. On Saturday, May 2nd Brad had surgery to biopsy the mass, the results came back on Thursday, May 7th and the results were the complete opposite of what we were hoping for. Brad was diagnosed with a large Glioblastoma tumor, located in the left frontal lobe of his brain. Glioblastoma’s are a rare but aggressive form of brain cancer. This news paired with the fact that COVID-19 has made it impossible for Jamie to be with Brad during this whole process is nothing short of heartbreaking. Thankfully Brad was able to come home on Sunday after 4 long days without visitors. They are home and remain positive working with Mayo and Methodist to attain a plan of treatment moving forward. Meanwhile, he will be doing occupational therapy 2-3 times a week in conjunction with speech therapy.

As friends of the family, we created this fundraiser to help support Brad and Jamie with mounding expenses/hospital bills so they can concentrate on what is most important.
