Please help me get to Borneo Summer 2025
Donation protected
My name is Millie and I am absolutely delighted to say that I have been offered a place with my school, Budmouth Academy, to visit Borneo on an expedition in the summer of 2025.
However all students going have to fundraise to pay for their trip and hence the purpose of this page.
This once in a lifetime opportunity is a fully supported expedition (Camps International) which will provide me with a unique opportunity to live alongside rural communities, broadening my perspective on the world. Each expedition is aligned to the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals and designed to make a significant and lasting impact on the region’s most critical issues.
This will be a 4-week expedition travelling across several different locations within Borneo and will include community development work, environmental projects, and wildlife conservation, such as helping endangered orangutans, planting trees to aid in reforestation efforts, and building schools for some of the poorest communities. Only 30% of children in Borneo are able to go on to secondary school, and by contributing to my expedition, you can help me make a difference to the lives of young people in Borneo.
This expedition will allow me to test myself and step further outside of my comfort zone. I absolutely loved doing my bronze and silver DofE and currently working towards my gold. Last year I also completed the Army Ten Tors 45 mile which was an incredible but very challenging event.
To help me reach my £4980 goal over the next 18 months I will be taking part in challenges, events and working to raise as much money as possible through fundraising.
If you can please contribute in anyway to help me experience this opportunity of a life time it will be very much appreciated.
