Help Save Zack with a kidney
Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Zachary. In September 2017 I went to the hospital because I was having high blood pressure and had been feeling abnormally sick for that past 2 months. After the doctors saw me I was ready for them to tell me I had hypertension but to my surprise they told me I have end-stage kidney failure and would need to start dialysis right away to save my life. I was so confused because I hardly ever drank alcohol and didn't smoke at all. I try to lead a heathy lifestyle, so this was tough pill to swallow. I use to be a very active person. Working out, going to social events, playing sports and participating in family activities. Fast forward to today, I'm doing much better and I’m recently engaged to the woman of my dreams. I worry about being able to do simple things like standing at my future wedding ceremony because my energy level has gone down significantly. It is very hard to do basic task without struggling. Not to mention I do home dialysis every night for 9 hours. I was added to a kidney transplant list in two states, which is great news. Thank God my insurance covers the majority of a kidney transplant procedure but there are additional expenses (like post surgery medication, travel expenses, care giver while recovering) that the hospital requires me to cover. I have always been very responsible with money but when people tell you an illness can bankrupt you, it is true. Right now I’m struggling financially to stay a float, I have been in the negative almost ever month. Please find it in your heart to help me raise at least $6,000 to ease the stress of worrying where I will get this required money from. Every little bit helps and I can’t express how much I would appreciate it. Also if you are interest in donating a kidney. A kidney would improve my health greatly, day to day mobility, physical ability and importantly my life expectancy. For what I ask I don't take lightly, so if anyone has any question or are interested please feel free to contact the transplant unit directly If in Atlanta area (Piedmont Hospital) contacts (404)-605-4128 Barbara O'Neal [email redacted] or (404)-605-5360 Denise Neal [email redacted] are the contacts . If in Florida area (Miami Transplant Institution) you can contact [phone redacted] for general questions MTILivingDonor.org to began the screening process I hope everyone stays blessed and I appreciate you taking a moment to read this message.
