Urgent Appeal: Help Save My Family from the Horrors of War in Gaza
Hi, I'm Saed Zaqout from Berlin , organising this fundraising to help my friend's family Mazen evacuate from Gaza War.
Dear compassionate souls,
My name is Mazen, and I write to you with a heart heavy with sorrow and a plea for urgent assistance. At thirty-five years old, I find myself at the forefront of a battle not of my choosing – the battle to safeguard the lives of my family members, the last remnants of hope in the midst of the relentless turmoil in Gaza.
Imagine a life where every moment is overshadowed by the specter of violence, where the simple act of staying in your own home becomes a gamble with fate. This has become our reality. I never fathomed that I would have to appeal for aid or contemplate fleeing my homeland. Yet, the unyielding string of tragedies that has plagued my family has left me with no alternative.
We clung to our home during the war, determined to weather the storm. But our resolve cost us dearly – we lost five beloved members when our family house was bombed. Forced to evacuate, we found ourselves in yet another target, another casualty of the conflict.
In the chaos, my younger brother, just twenty-eight years old, lost his life, leaving behind a grieving wife and their infant son, barely six months old. Now, we reside in a makeshift tent by the sea, where survival is a daily battle against the elements. Basic necessities like infant milk are luxuries beyond reach.
We've lost more than just our homes – we've lost our livelihoods, our sense of security, our very foundation. The responsibility of protecting the remaining thirteen members of my family falls heavily upon my shoulders – nine adults and four infants, all seeking refuge from the horrors of war.
This is why I reach out to you, humbly asking for your support. With your generosity, we aim to raise €66,000 to secure the safety and well-being of my family. Here's how your donations will be utilized:
Travel Expenses (€66,000): The bulk of the funds will cover travel costs for the family members from the Rafah crossing to Egypt. This includes fees for passports and required documents. €54,000 will be allocated for the adults, and €12,000 for the children.
GoFundMe Transaction Fees: A portion of the donations will be used to cover transaction fees, ensuring that every cent goes towards aiding my family.
Every donation, no matter how small, is a beacon of hope in our darkest hour. Your support is not just a financial contribution; it is a lifeline that sustains us through these trying times. Please consider sharing our story with your networks, spreading awareness of our plight.
Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can offer my family a chance at a brighter tomorrow. Thank you for your compassion and humanity.
With profound gratitude,
Saed
