3D Printed Face Shields for the NHS (Covid19)

Donation protected
Trying to help out the NHS in this time of crisis by producing a simple 3D printable Face Shield.

The design allows the use of pretty much any A4 size clear plastic sheet to be used as a face shield.

I have produced the design to maximize the available print bed i have on my Creality Ender 5 Plus 3D Printer, which allows us to print 20 bands for the face shields at a time on the bed size of 350mm x 350 mm.

With this setup i can currently produce 40 bands for the face shields per day and 1KG of material will produce around 100.

(The image above is of a test print of 14 that is underway to check everything before ramping up to 20.)

The aim of this Gofundme is to help buy in more materials for printing, plastic sheets for the shield part of the mask, assist with delivery costs and if people are extra generous to purchase more 3D printers so we can increase the amount we can produce.

Some rough costs -

1KG of 3D Printer Filamet ~ £20

100 Clear over head projector sheets ~ £20

Additional 3D Printers with large volume print beds ~£500 - £1000

There are other designs out there for these 3D Printed Face Shields which are all fantastic, but i wanted to maximize the resource i had, if the donations allow i will purchase some smaller format printers and put them to use printing the other designs that have been made available for them.

At the end of the day we need to get as much PPE as possible out to the NHS Frontline.

Any help or support in printing these face shields for the NHS is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your support,

Seth
