Ralph's fight against melanoma
Donation protected
I set up this account on behalf of my brother, Ralph, and his family to help pay for Ralph's medical expenses while he battles melanoma. Ralph's wife, Maureen, and son, Brandon, have fought by his side since his initial diagnosis. His fight began in March of 2014, when results from a biopsy of a mole came back malignant. After surgery to remove the cancerous tissue and lymph nodes from his arm, along with radiation and chemo, we thought he had kicked cancer's butt. Unfortunately, a few months later, Ralph discovered a lump under that same arm. A CAT scan revealed what we feared; the melanoma was back, invading more tissue and lymph nodes in his arm, along his rib cage and throughout his one lung. Ralph just started his 2nd round of chemo, which he will have every 3 weeks. In 8 weeks, he will have another scan to determine his prognosis. If the chemo is helping, he will have anywhere from 12-36 months. If it's not working, 3-6 months. Ralph can continue to have chemo treatments until it becomes toxic to him; at which point the doctors have one more type of chemo to try. We hope that he can continue with this chemo until a curative treatment is discovered. We are asking for donations to help with all of Ralph's medical expenses. Even if we are only able to fundraise enough to pay for the gas it takes to transport him to and from his chemo treatments, it would help tremendously! Prayers are always appreciated. We'll take as many as we can get. Thank you all for helping someone who means the world to me. God bless.
