Making Christmas Special

I am a Social Worker and am blessed to work for a small program that supports relative and non-relative caregivers that care for abused children from the kindness of their hearts.  The program is truly unique in that we have an opportunity to provide an additional layer of support to relative and non-relative caregivers who step-up to the plate to provide full-time care for their grandchildren, nieces/nephews, siblings and family friends, so that children remain with family or a close loved one, preventing placement in foster care whenever possible.  These caregivers agree to take in some of the most vulnerable children, who have experienced abuse and neglect. These children often arrive to their new homes with only the clothes on their back, and the caregivers adjust their households, lifestyles, budgets, and more to provide a safe and loving environment, where children flourish and their parents have an opportunity to rehabilitate.

We are excited to be hosting a Holiday Celebration for these gracious caregivers to honor and recognize all of their commitment and dedication to children in need.  We are also trying to support these caregivers to make the holidays special for these children, as they are often not prepared when they are taking in children around the holidays.  

I am kindly asking for your support in helping make this a memorable event for all of the families we serve.  All donations will be used for provide gifts for these vulnerable children during our holiday celebration, gifts/prizes to our caregivers to show our gratitude, and also towards food and drink purchases to provide during our celebration.

I am hoping to collect donations by December 1st in order to prepare for our event.  

Holidays are a time for love and family, but we all know they can also be a stressful time.  This is also such a vulnerable time for children that are not in the care of their parents and we hope to make their holidays special for them.  Please help to make the holidays about love and to lessen the stress of these children and caregivers.  The smallest donations can truly impact these families' lives and it would mean so much for our program to be able to help make the holidays a time of joy for our children.
