Keliix U17 Boys Soccer to the Norway Cup

As a bonus to their 2022 USA Cup Tournament win in Blaine, MN, The Keliix U17 Boys Soccer Team has won a spot in the 2023 Norway Cup in Oslo. The Norway Cup is an annual, international youth soccer tournament, with the first edition being held in 1972. It is the world's largest football tournament and sees 1,400 to 1,700 teams each year, hitting a record 2,199 teams in 2016. The participants in the tournament typically come from around 50-60 different nations.

Keliix Intra is a youth soccer club based in Minneapolis. Boys and girls ages 5 - 19 from Minneapolis and the surrounding metropolitan area develop top-notch soccer skills while "growing up" with the support of a unique, tight-knit community. At Keliix we love soccer, yes, but we are more - we are a community of players, coaches, parents, and family members bound together by a unique spirit - the Keliix Spirit!

The ‘06 team, coached by Jason English, is made up of high school sophomore and junior boys from the Twin Cities area. The core group of players has been together with Keliix for over 5 years, continuously developing their skills and love of the game while competing with the top teams in the state. Recent top achievements include winning the 2022 and 2021 USA Cup Tournaments.

Winning the invitation to the 2023 Norway Cup is extremely exciting for the team, both for the opportunity to play soccer against teams from around the world and for the chance to experience northern European culture. Contributions to this gofundme campaign will be used to offset expenses related to flights, lodging, ground transportation and food. Our goal is to remove any unnecessary financial pressures on our families and compete as one team because we are “Together as One”.

At the time of this posting, we are excited to announce that we have two separate matching gift donations, totaling $6,000:

1. $1,000 anonymous

2. $5,000 Northstar Capital

Two additional incentives to contribute:

1. The players have agreed to take part in a polar plunge when the campaign crosses the $15,000 threshold.

2. If we hit $30,000, team parents will be taking the plunge too!

Specific ice hole to be determined, but video proof of the event(s) will be shared.
