Amy has recently been diagnosed with cancer for the fourth time, and this time it has manifested in her breast. Her journey has been marked by unwavering courage, determination, and an unbreakable spirit. Now, as she faces this new battle, we are coming together to offer our love, support, and financial assistance through this GoFundMe campaign.
Amy's Story:
Amy's journey with cancer began 15 years ago with Hodgkins Lymphoma Stage 4, only to return six months later after chemo & radiation. This time she endured a Stem Cell Transplant with so many complications along the way. High doses of chemo damaged her heart and lungs. A drug interaction left her bedridden and fighting for her life. She went from a bed, wheelchair, walker and walking again. Disabled for five years, then able to work and teach dance again. Her true passion has always been ballet, since she can no longer dance & perform.
In July 2020, she was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma breast cancer caused by radiation to her chest 15 years ago. She had a mastectomy of the left breast. Now exactly 4 years later, fighting breast cancer again in the other. Her mother passed away three years ago and was her caregiver, best friend and her rock for 13 years of her cancer journey. She has beaten the beast three times before but this has taken a financial toll. Each time, she faced her treatment with a smile on her face while still giving and providing for everyone around her. Her positivity and determination have been nothing short of inspiring to all who know her. However, her recent diagnosis of breast cancer brings new challenges that require all the strength and support she can muster.
Despite facing the physical, emotional, and financial toll that cancer inflicts, Amy has always put others before herself, and now it's our turn to step up and stand by her side.
How You Can Help:
We understand that everyone's circumstances are different, but any contribution, big or small, will make an impact on Amy's fight against cancer. The funds raised through this campaign will go towards:
- Medical Expenses: Cancer treatments, surgeries, medications, and regular medical check-ups create a significant financial burden. This support will help Amy fund the expenses that come with cancer treatments.
- Emotional Support: Amy is discouraged that she is going through this for a fourth time. Your messages of love, encouragement, and hope will remind Amy that she's not alone in this fight and that she is strong.
- Day-to-Day Necessities: Appointments, treatments, etc will take a toll on Amy’s available vacation days. Donations will be used to provide some relief during this challenging time.
- Alternative Therapies: Amy has already been through chemo and radiation and her body can take much more. She is interested in exploring alternative options that may greatly enhance the healing process. Your contributions can enable Amy to explore these options.
