Jayden's fight against cancer

Heartbreakingly my best friends’ son, Jayden – 17 years old (Union, NJ), was diagnosed with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor which is a rare form of cancer in children. Something no child should ever be diagnosed with and every parent’s absolute worst nightmare. Jayden has undergone a lot of tests in the recent weeks and surgery to insert a Mediport so that he can receive his cancer treatment medications. Jayden began his chemo treatment on 12/29/2021 and is in high spirits, however, since starting his treatments he is unable to go to school, play soccer, ride his bicycle and spend time with his family and friends as he should. Chemo treatments make him very sick and and compromise his immune system. He will also be starting radiation treatments soon. We are asking for prayers and strength for him to fight this battle. There is nothing impossible for God; he is in control and also provides the amazing doctors with intelligence for them to do their job in helping Jayden.

 

Arisai is not able to work as she must care for and attend treatments with Jayden at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, 5 days a week for a whole year of chemo, radiation, and surgeries. Jayden's medical insurance only covers 70% of the treatments. Arisai is responsible for the 30% that the medical insurance does not pay, gas, tolls, parking not to mention the medications that she constantly has to purchase to help Jayden throughout this treatment. Due to a New Year starting and Arisai not being able to work, she will not accrue any sick or vacation time leaving the family with not many options financially.

 

My hope with setting up this Fundraiser is that we can ease the financial burden on the family through this difficult time. This is where I am asking for any support you can give, no donation amount is too little. All funds raised will go directly to Jayden's medical costs and related travel expenses for Arisai.

De manera desgarradora, el hijo de mi mejor amiga, Jayden, de 17 años, le diagnosticaron un tumor desmoplásico de células redondas pequeñas, que es una forma rara de cáncer en los niños. Algo que ningún niño debería ser diagnosticado nunca y la peor pesadilla absoluta de todos los padres. Jayden se ha sometido a muchas pruebas en las últimas semanas y a una cirugía para ponerle un Mediport para que pueda recibir sus medicamentos para el tratamiento del cáncer. Jayden comenzó su tratamiento de quimioterapia el 29 de diciembre del 2021 y está muy animado. Sin embargo, desde que comenzó sus tratamientos no puede ir a la escuela, jugar fútbol, andar en bicicleta y pasar tiempo con su familia y amigos como debería. Los tratamientos de quimioterapia lo enferman mucho y comprometen su sistema inmunológico. Pronto también comenzará tratamientos de radiación. Estamos pidiendo oraciones y fuerza para que pelee esta batalla. No hay nada imposible para Dios. Él tiene el control y también es el médico por excelencia que le da la inteligencia a los médicos para hacer su trabajo.

 

Arisai no puede trabajar porque debe cuidar y asistir a tratamientos con Jayden en el Hospital Infantil Sloan Kettering de Nueva York, 5 días a la semana durante todo un año de quimioterapia, radiación y cirugías. El seguro médico de Jayden solo cubre el 70% de los tratamientos. Arisai es responsable del 30% que no paga el seguro médico, gasolina, peajes, estacionamiento sin mencionar los medicamentos que constantemente tiene que comprar para ayudar a Jayden durante este tratamiento. Debido a que comenzó un Año Nuevo y Arisai no puede trabajar, no acumulará ningún tiempo de vacaciones o enfermedad, lo que dejará a la familia sin muchas opciones financieras.

 

Mi esperanza con la creación de esta recaudación de fondos es que podamos aliviar la carga financiera de la familia durante este momento difícil. Aquí es donde pido cualquier apoyo que pueda brindar, ninguna cantidad de donación es demasiado pequeña. Todos los fondos recaudados se destinarán directamente a los costos médicos de Jayden y los gastos de viaje relacionados con Arisai.
