My Mom Is Needing A New Transmission.

Hi, my name is Destiny and I am wanting to start a fundraiser for my mom. On Christmas Eve, my mom was driving up to North Carolina to celebrate with her back seat filled with presents and food. When she pulled up to the driveway, her car made this gnarly sound, that's when the RPM's skyrocketed and the engine light came on. Her car stopped moving forward and as she would press the gas her car would start to roll backwards. She immediately parked her car, turned it off and called me in tears. My husband and I (along with other family members) ran outside hoping it wasn't true, but when we started the car and pressed the gas to go forward her car went backwards. My husband looked under the car and felt transmission fluid everywhere and knew we had to leave it there. I brought my mom home after the get-together and she has used my car ever since. Her car got towed to a nice place in North Carolina, but they don't work on transmissions so after a few more days, it was towed here in Greenville, SC. As of Yesterday, January 9th, it was the first day that mechanics were able to take a look, and still said it would take a few days before anything is done. My mom did say that it would take about $5,000 to get a new transmission, without labor costs. It is a lot of money to ask and my mom has been going to donate plasma every 2 or 3 days just to save but, she also has a Nonverbal Autistic son, who is 16 and is our pride and joy. Last week he had a few important appointments and they gave my mom some stressful news about his ankles, legs and knees. After his appointments, he understands that he can get candy, so my mom tries to always get him the candy he would like since he is severely allergic to many foods. So, it's kind of hard to save all that she can. My mom deserves the world, and if I could, I wish I could just buy her a brand new car. She worries about everyone else except herself and she desperately needs this money for her transmission. Her car was the only car they had, now it's just mine in her driveway - leaving me and my family without a car. She needs it more than we do, we have another car and she needs my car mainly for work and my brother's appointments, especially now that we have a possible surgery in the mix.
