Alfonso's Medical for Critical COVID Hemoperfusion

Hello everyone. We are raising funds for my father Alfonso's hospitalization as he is in the ER waiting for his transfer to ICU for his treatment of severe COVID. He was admitted September 29 when his condition turned worse. He has been responding to treatment as as of today, October 1, his oxygen level is stable. His doctors suggested Hemoperfusion that is around Php400,000 for four days or USD8,000. Our running bill as of today has gone up to PHP 180,000 or USD 3,000 which our family members are contributing for his care.

Just to give a little backstory of what we have been experiencing. On Sept 5, my brother-in-law Sherwin was rushed to the hospital due to his oxygen saturation has become low. He was admitted but sadly passed away on Sept 6 due to COVID pneumonia. He was fully vaccinated and had undergone an antigen test a week prior Aug 28. It started as a mild cough on August 30 he reported it to his company but was advised to have a bed rest for 3 days since he had a negative antigen test. During this trying time, my nephew was brought to my parents’ house (Mom Lorenza and my Dad, Alfonso Arellano). He has nowhere to go, and needs special care as he is in Spectrum.

 

After Sherwin’s cremation services, my sister Arra had my parents, sister Jasmin and Aiden tested. unfortunately Aiden & Arra tested positive. We made a decision that both my parents and my sister Jasmin leave the house and went to a friend’s apartment to quarantine as they were all tested negative at the time.

 

September 15, Jasmin tested positive and had to go to the quarantine facility in Ermita. September 18, my father started showing symptoms such as coughing, fever and needed help standing up and walking. We have been in constant online consultation to assist my dad’s meds. We contacted our local LGU to assist my mom and dad which are both seniors to get tested. They were tested positive on the 21th and we have been in contacts with doctors and we are constantly monitoring their vitals and oxygens and they have been taking antibiotics. On the 26th, things turned to worse. Dad’s oxygen level went down below normal and was rushed to the emergency room. We are grateful with the local LGUs for arranging all of this as all of them are quarantining separately. He was given care in UERM and tried to up his oxygen manually. Unfortunately, he was not responding good, and we have agreed for intubation. 

We are grateful for any amount that you can contribute for our father’s hospitalization. My sister Arra has already started raising funds locally to help with the hospitalization. We are praying and fighting for his chance to survive and hopefully make to his 72nd birthday this October 6. Everyone knows that my dad is such a selfless man. He will give the shirt off his back for someone who is in need. We had just paid for his eye surgery and he had just overcome Bells Palsy and now he is battling COVID. We appreciate all the love and support that you are giving us in this very difficult time.
