Bahamas Relief Fund
My name is Gil Arquisola and I am a fourth-year pharmacy student from Mercer University College of Pharmacy. Myself and four other pharmacy students within my class will be on pharmacy rotation in the Bahamas starting in October.
Because of Hurricane Dorian and the destruction it has caused on Grand Bahama Island and the Abacos, the objectives of our rotation have provided us with a much different directive of our stay than originally intended, however; as future healthcare professionals, my colleagues and I feel that we have an opportunity before us to utilize our education and to help with relief efforts and provide assistance to those who need it most.
Before we head off towards our rotation, my colleagues and I humbly request your help with financial donations that can help us to provide clothing, supplies, and various items that are being requested to help with relief efforts. ANY donation is greatly appreciated and will be utilized to purchase items from a list that has been provided by our preceptor, Dr. Marvin Smith. Dr. Smith is the Deputy Director of Pharmaceuticals for the Public Hospital Authority of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. All remaining monies will be given to Dr. Smith to be given to the homeless shelters and a soup kitchen that we will be volunteering as a part of our relief efforts.
Thank you so much for visiting the donation page and your time. Our preceptor has been working tirelessly since the aftermath of the storm and we want to do what we can to show him our support for his efforts and for the people of the Bahamas.
