Harley’s Medical Bills

Recently my baby, Harley, got violently ill with nausea/vomiting and diarrhea. After some brief treatments with our local vet she was referred to more emergent treatment at Garden State Veterinary Services. There they saw some signs that they didn’t like and wanted to have an ultrasound done and possibly even surgery. They then sent us to their Tinton Falls location which would be able to handle more severe cases. After an exam the doctor wasn’t able to figure out exactly what the problem was and we were forced to have her admitted for further testing. This was the hardest part of this so far. They advised us that it could be anything from a bowel obstruction, to pancreatitis, to cancer.  They called us back a few hours later to let us know that her full intestinal track was distended and filled with fluid. The ultrasound showed no obstruction, but are unable to clear the colon, so if there is an obstruction it could possibly be there. Additionally they stated that her lymph nodes were swollen and could be a sign of cancer or some sort of reactions. They will be doing a biopsy to get further information and update us tomorrow.  They told us that if it results in surgery we could see costs of nearly $10,000. This is money that we do not have. Most people don’t have this money at a whim. And to top it off they require 75% deposits to be paid up front. Luckily they quoted low for a best case scenario to financially help us with the deposit. I applied for care credit and got approved for $5,000. This is where I am coming up with the additional $5,000 that I am asking for from anyone who can help. A mere $5 helps and adds up so please, if you can spare anything, no amount is too small.
