I will never forget the day I received the call; Jamie told me he had a mass on his pancreas and his body was full of blood clots, including his lungs. Stunned is an understatement. I would soon learn that my best friend of over 35 years had stage 4 Adenocarcinoma Pancreatic Cancer that had metastasized to the liver. Jamie and Priscilla’s lives changed forever. He is now going through chemo every 2 weeks and will not be able to work.

Jamie and I met as kids riding BMX bikes in flatland competitions in almost every state in the United States which is where our brotherhood began. Over the years we began playing golf and he decided that was going to be his profession. Jamie has had a wonderful career in golf, earning his PGA status over 20 years ago. Through the many years he has had the opportunity to live and work in places like Georgia, Kansas, Florida, Mississippi, and his most favorite place in Puerto Rico at Rio Mar Country Club where he met and married Priscilla. Jamies’s wife is a registered nurse that has dedicated over 20 plus years of her work life to improving patients’ health and wellbeing. Jamie’s personality has attracted many friends from around the world including his colleagues within the Troon Golf management company of which he worked with most of his career.

Anyone who’s ever met Jamie knows he is the most kindhearted person who smiles even with adversity pushing against him. He is always that person who thinks about others before himself. But now, it is time for us to help Jamie in this trying time.
