St Gerard's Special Needs School pupils
St Gerard's is one of the largest Special needs schools in the country. With nearly 500 pupils ranging from 3 to 19 years of age across a whole range of needs.
St Gerard's are extremely active in ensuring the best school & life experiences possible for their pupils, families & support networks.
Our staff, families & friends work tirelessly to raise funds to ensure our pupils can engage in programs like swimming, gymnastics, employability, health & wellness etc.
St Gerard's is situated on the Blacks Road in Belfast & is surrounded by a large number of housing estates with very little in the way of play areas or park facilities.
St Gerard's however is inheriting plenty of ground that it would like to develop into sensory play areas, play parks, football areas & social enterprise initiatives for its pupils & the wider community.
It is hoped that money raised will go towards planning, developing, constructing & maintaining this regeneration project.
The project will see our pupils avail of fabulous play & sensory experiences & also provide opportunities for them to develop employability skills and at the same time become a hub that can open to the community outside of school hours.
Our incredible school community of over 100 parents, staff & friends of the school have all put their trainers where their mouth is & are taking on the Belfast marathon to raise funds.
Thank you so much for any support you can give.
