My Story
My name is Patrick Wheeler. I will be entering my junior year of high school at NewGate Montessori School in Sarasota, Florida, this August. NewGate is a small, yet devoted, private school. I have been going to this school for the better part of four years and have loved every second of it. Montessori’s teaching is what I love the most about the school. For the past four years, NewGate has been preparing me for college, as well as, teaching me real-life skills that I will use in the future as an adult. The social environment of the school is also non-traditional and fun. NewGate educates a smaller amount of students, which allows me to socialize with children of all ages. I believe that I should keep being educated at NewGate because a majority of younger kids look up to me and simply because the school’s community is like a family. If I left NewGate, they would lose a family member. For as long as I’ve been at NewGate, I’ve seen dozens of students come and go and it’s unfortunate to witness because they quickly become a part of the community. I just don’t want to be like those students and lose contact with NewGate. Ever since I started my educational journey with NewGate in 2011, I have always dreamed of graduating and spending the rest of my high-school years at this phenomenal school. The school holds a total of approximately 115 students ranging from the preschool to 12th grade level. If you would like to learn more about NewGate and what it offers to students like me, please visit this site:

Anyways, I’m reaching out to the GoFundMe and/or Facebook community because I seem to have hit an obstacle which I cannot face alone. For the past few months, I have been in contact with the NewGate Administration trying to figure out the best way to get my tuition conflict resolved. Thanks to the NewGate staff, we were able to lower the tuition cost effectively; however, there still is a hefty amount that needs to be paid. Unfortunately, my family is unable to pay this amount. For the past few years, we have always had a scholarship named Step Up for Students that was able to cover a majority of the cost. This year, I’m ineligible to apply for the Step Up for Students scholarship . Some amazing people from the NewGate community have contacted me and thought that by setting up this GoFundMe page, I would be able to raise enough money to go to NewGate for the fifth year in a row. I thought this was the best choice at this point in time, so I have set up this page to see how much I could raise.
Important Notes-
The funds go directly and only to my tuition costs!
Even the smallest of donations will make a huge difference in this fundraiser! This is the perfect school for my needs. I would like to have, yet another, great year at NewGate School.
