Help Shelly Kick Cancer’s Ass!

I am setting this fundraiser up for my sister, Shelly, who was very recently diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer. If you know her, you know what they’ve been through, and if you don’t know her, you are missing knowing one of the strongest people I know.
Shelly has always loved kids ( and is the best Aunt to my kids), and opened her own daycare. Her families and staff loved her, and it grew and flourished. A hurricane hit and flooded the day care almost completely destroying it, but she rebuilt. The day care continued to grow, and she was able to move into a new and larger place. Well, Covid hit, and as hard as she worked to keep it open for as long as she could, she finally ended up having to close the doors. BUT, did she quit?? Nope! She and her husband opened The Cafe Markham. The food is completely amazing, by the way!
This summer, her husband, Joseph was diagnosed with cancer of the eye. 5 weeks ago, she suffered the unimaginable loss of her son, Ben, her only child. She had his memorial on a Friday, and the following Monday, Joseph had his first of two surgeries to treat his cancer. He has a great prognosis and we are thankful!
She took care of everyone first and then finally went to the doctor for symptoms she had been having. What she thought was a UTI was actually ovarian cancer. She’s still in Methodist Hospital and is preparing to start treatment. She and Joseph can not be at the cafe, and it is struggling to survive. Shelly does not currently have insurance, and while she is working with a social worker to figure out the financial aspect, there is still a huge need.
If you know her, she doesn’t complain. She maintains her sass and still finds a way to make others laugh and feel loved. Please help me to help them. She has rebuilt and conquered and does not ask for help, but this is just more than anyone should ever have to deal with! If you can not give, please pray for her healing! We know God’s got this!
