Hi my sister Michelle who is 38yrs has been though a traumatic experience that no one would every dreamed of.
Michelle is a single mother of 6 children raising them all on her own.
She was hoping for a lovely Christmas with her family when she was struck down by the flu so Christmas and the new year would be celebrated different.
In mid December the flu knocked her down like it does with a lot of people, which ment her body was low.
She did see the gp who had said she had a kidney infection and gave her antibiotics to cure it, but as this didn't work, she ended up with being rushed in to hospital on the 6th January after doctor had done a house call the day before and said she was ok.
On to her driving to the local hospital dazed and confused she was admitted with pneumonia and a possible blood clot on the lung.
She was then transfer to glan clwyd hospital where they decide to sedate her to sleep as the flu, pheumonia and sepsis. Sepsis attacked her body which Sent her in to multiple organ failure.
Not knowing if she would survive. She was in ccu for a few weeks and all the amazing effort of the doctors and nursing staff kept my sister stable and alive.
She woke up few weeks ago to find the sepsis had attacked her feet which will she will end up having partial amputation which will be life change for her and her children.
It's been a long 8-9 weeks and the road to recovery is going to be long and slow.
Some help will be much appreciated but to get across how deadly the flu, pneumonia and sepsis can be.
Thanks for taking the time to read this
