Callie's Surgery

In 2008, we adopted a cat from a shelter who had just had her eye removed to an unknown cause (see photos below). She adapted well to our home with the help of other cats and has turned into a loving, sweet animal. She has even recently taken the role of mother to a one month old rescued kitten.
Over the past month, our cat Callie has developed a growth on her stomach. We took her to the vet, but unfortunately, the only surgery that may be able to help is far too much for us to afford on our own. At a minimum, to remove the growth, surgery would cost about $3,000.
At this time, the growth is mostly blood and other liquid, and lies between her skin and internal body. The vet did test this and it is not cancerous, however, it is continuously growing, and at some point soon, will reach a size where she will not be able to maintain good quality of life. In another scenario, it is also possible that this will rupture, causing future issues and infection. This will not remove the problem; it will most likely begin to grow again unless removed.
I am setting up this GoFundMe as a last resort. I know a lot of people will look at this, if that, and continue on with their day, but if you have even $1 to spare, we would greatly appreciate it. Of course, I am able to use some of my own savings, but cannot afford this bill on my own. If 150 people donated $20, we could easily hit our minimum goal.
In the case that the goal is not met and we cannot preform the surgery because of this or any other reasons, we will look into donating the proceeds to a local animal shelter, TBD.
Please consider donating or simply just sharing - we really don't want to say goodbye to her at only 12 years old.
