Fighting for Silas

Funds will go to a wheelchair van for Silas as we don’t have a accessible car. Anything left over goes to medical supplies insurance doesn’t cover along with anything to help silas adapt to his new normal of less and less mobility
Silas is a six year old little guy who has an amazing spirit and infectious smile. Recently we have found out that Silas has kmt2b gene mutation that is rapidly progressing. From 39 surgeries and procedures Silas has been through so much and has came out fighting every time. Any little bit helps whether it’s for Silas medical needs, travel, uninsured expenses. Silas is one of five in which three have special needs. Last year in July we recently found out that Silas sister has diabetes. She was recently admitted for dka and in result of this dads job had fired him because of such short notice. Later down the road dads health took a turn and since then it’s been so hard on our family. We recently have found out that silas more then likely can’t qualify for transplant and at this point we need help adapting to his new world. Silas legs are becoming worse and his gene mutation is taking over. We appreciate everyone who is willing to help save our little boy!
Silas was born 11/20/2013 with malrotation found at four months old. Following that after all the years of testing and more then 132 iv pokes, central line changes and surgeries, Silas stomach and intestine was pinned to his abdominal wall. Later down the years we were forced to go to nationwide hospital in Columbus where what we thought was the end of our journey was just the beginning . Silas has studies done and we found out his colon was dead. Silas has yet several more surgeries and now we are at the point Silas has pseudointestinal obstruction. Silas has kmt2b gene mutation along with several other gene abnormalities. We are working with Cleveland , Columbus and now Boston children’s to find out what’s going on. Silas will need a lot to adapt to his new life. We will make it our mission to make sure Silas has the best life he can possibly have . The goal is to get Silas everything he needs to adapt one in which is a special needs bike, wheelchair accessible van and his by George bed so he is safe! Our family is truly humbled by everyone’s help and kind words .
