Welcoming the Stranger

Hi, I'm Rev. Jan. My little church in Tukwila, Riverton Park United Methodist, does a GREAT BIG ministry. At the present moment we have more than 80 recent migrants living on our campus. Some are in Tiny Homes, some in tents, and some on cots in the church building. We love each one who comes to us and try to provide the resources needed to move each family forward. Most families are fleeing violence in their home countries of Venezuela and Angola.

Our Food Pantry provides nutritional support, our Response Center offers clothing and household goods, and our building offers safety and shelter. We would like to be able to add a shower (most residents are sharing 1 shower at this point) or rent a shower trailer.

Our future hope will be that the County/State/Nation will step up and provide more resources for our new residents. But until then many non-profits will do our best to offer the hospitality deserved. Please give if you can. It will be deeply appreciated.
