Family displaced by fire

Family displaced by fire
As many have heard, there was a fire in Colonial Heights yesterday, May 15th that left 2 children critically injured as well as their grandmother with critical injuries and smoke inhalation. My niece Chelsea, her husband DeAndre and their daughter Carmen were thankfully not home at the time of the fire but have been displaced as they are unable to now live in the home. Through the grace and love of others, they do have somewhere to live temporarily but as unplanned tragedies happen, they remind us of all of things we wished we had thought to prepare for. Chelsea has a heart like no other, she gives to others even if it means taking from herself. She is one of the most thoughtful and loving people on this earth and really needs our help as a community to help her support all of her family at this time. Her sister Cierra also needs help as 2 of her children were critically injured, so much so that the Colonial Heights fire department has brought in their peer support team to help the fire fighters who graciously risked their lives to save those 2 children and now are trying to cope with what they witnessed during that rescue.

Chelsea has been through so much these last few years. She lost her grandfather who was so very special to her in 2021 and then a year later her mother passed away. She has always tried to be the caretaker of her family and I know that any money raised will go towards helping her nephews and her niece, her sister Cierra who is going through things no mother ever wants to imagine and still has not been allowed to see her daughter Ava who is in the most critical of condition as she suffered burns on 70% of her body. Cierras son Nathaniel also has burns on 60% of his body. Through what can only be described as a miracle, her son Maverick was found outside of the burning home having suffered no burns to his body. Chelsea’s Mimi Sharon Davis was removed from the home by the quick actions of a neighbor and although she is expected to survive this tragedy, she will certainly have a long road to recovery. Please above anything else, include this entire family in your prayers as we know that through God, all things are possible. If you can, please donate. This family is going to have financial needs that we can’t even begin to comprehend at this time while everyone is just trying to survive in these moments. No amount is to small and you can even donate directly to Chelsea in many ways. Her cashapp is $crian93, PayPal is [email redacted] and her chime is itsalwayssunnii. Also Loco Kitty located in Petersburg at 307 N Sycamore Street has offered to give 100% of todays profits (Tuesday May 16th) to go directly to the family and that is for dine in or carry out. You can also drop off a cash donation there and they will make sure it gets to the family.
