Help My Dad Fight Cancer
Donation protected
We've been through this journey once before, five years ago. I was shooting The Amazing Race and had no contact with my friends or family for a month. During that time, my dad was diagnosed with stage four kidney cancer and was given a 50% chance of surviving it. Thankfully, after a brutal surgery and recovery over Christmas, my dad was cancer free and has been for almost five years. During his final checkup this week, the radiologist sadly found more cancer. This time the situation is more dire because my dad only has one kidney left, we're in a pandemic, and he has since become a diabetic.
Sadly, my dad's fight continues. My dad is the sole provider in my house, as my mom can not work. He's an English honors teacher, and picks up referee jobs on the side to make ends meet. My little sister is a freshman in college, studying to become a nurse.
I wish I could financially support them during this time, with my own money and pay for his treatments, bills, and help keep them afloat while my dad faces this head-on a second time. Unfortunately, I can't do it alone.
The money raised here will help my dad pay for his cancer treatments, his $1000/month insulin for diabetes, food, and other basic needs during and after his surgery. We are grateful for any amount donated. It is with the heaviest heart that I have to do this, but we believe God will provide and make my dad whole again.
Love,
Erin and family
