Bob Domencetti Commission Project

Donation protected
Robert V. Domencetti touched countless lives and shaped thousands of musicians during his long and distinguished career in the music education field.  In order to properly honor "Bob," it is our hope that we'll be able to commission a piece of band literature from one of the most well-respected composers in the band world in his memory.    We appreciate any and all donations, as they'll help to fund this project.  For those who don't know Bob, or would like to know more about him, here's a brief biography:

Robert V. Domencetti was a native Ohioan and a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College and Kent State University. He studied with conducting legends William Revelli, Fredrick Fennell, Frank Battisti, Fredrick Ebbs and Kenneth Snapp. During his 14 years of teaching in Ohio, his bands consistently received the state's highest ratings.

After establishing himself as an educator of note in his home state, Mr. Domencetti moved to Greenlawn, NY, becoming the driving force behind the band  program in the Harborfields Central School District.  He became a valued member of that community, raising his children there, and he went on to become the district's Director of Music.  He continued  to work as both a band director and administrator there until he retired in June of 1999.
Mr. Domencetti  served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music at Queens College (Aaron Copland School of Music), was a Past President of SCMEA and NYSCAME-Suffolk (New York State Council of Administrators in Music Education), and was a former Suffolk County (Zone 14) Representative to NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association).  He was the Director of the Huntington Community Band for many years, and, upon moving back to Ohio in retirement, he became the Director of the Salem Quaker City Band.

Most importantly, Bob was a friend and mentor to everyone he came in contact with during his years in the education profession and beyond.   He will be missed by his family, his friends, his former students, and his colleagues. Please help us to honor him by making a donation for this project.
