Medical Expenses for Tommy

Hi, my name is Jackie; I am a close friend of Tom & Tiffany Fuhrmeister. Some of you may know that their 11 yr old son Tommy was diagnosed with an Arachnoid Cyst in his brain when he was 4 yrs old. The good thing is that Tommy’s cyst isn’t cancer, but it can never be removed because his brain formed around the cyst. Tommy had his first surgery at age 4 (2016). They were hoping it would be his last. Tommy had MRIs every year to monitor the cyst. Unfortunately, they were told Tommy’s cyst had grown in September, and he would need another surgery. On November 22, 2022, Tommy had his second brain surgery to drain the cyst and create pathways to help the cyst drain. Two weeks into Tommy’s recovery, he had some setbacks and was re-admitted to the hospital. He then had to have another surgery on Dec 13, 2022, his 11th birthday, to have a shunt placed. Tommy is currently recovering from his second surgery and doing well. Tommy’s condition is something he will have for the rest of his life, and we pray that he will not need any more surgeries, but unfortunately, we will not know what the future holds. I set up this go fund me to help the Fuhrmeister family with the medical bills. Insurance, unfortunately, does not cover all of Tommy’s medical expenses. I want to take some stress off of the Fuhrmeisters during this journey. Please consider donating if you can, no matter how big or small; every bit helps.
