Wednesday morning my brother and his family were woken by their neighbor telling them their house was on fire. They only had minutes to grab their 3 children and animals and get out. Everyone made it out side except one of there very loved cats, Athena. The firefighters searched for her but by the time they found her she had already passed due to the smoke. The whole family is very heart broken especially the kids.
This family has suffered a huge loss. Their home of only 2 years will have to be rebuilt due to the fire damage. At this time my brother David is the only one working full time. My sister in law Sierra works part time teaching birth classes and the rest of her time is spent volunteering in the community and taking care of their children. They are currently living in a hotel until insurance can find them a home to rent while their home is being rebuilt. They are asking for help from family and the community to please donate what you can spare to their GoFundMe or through Venmo (@SierraMiSmith).They need funds to help with food, clothes, house hold items, gas to get their two older kids back and forth to school and to cover bills while they go through this tough transition. Any little bit will help.
