The Judy Project - Face Masks for Medical Staff
Donation protected
EDIT: UC Berkeley is in the process of compiling a master list of hospitals that are currently requesting fabric masks. Should we find ourselves with a surplus, extra masks will be donated to these facilities!

Donna Spears, the director of maternal fetal medicine for SSM Health in St. Louis, has assembled a large team of volunteers to begin working on fabric masks for healthcare workers. This weekend, they were able to cut and assemble the components for 975 masks and will start sewing today.
Donna's coworker and good friend, Judy Wilson-Griffin, died of COVID-19 on March 20. She was a Desert Storm veteran and all-around fierce warrior nurse, and so they’ve named this endeavor The Judy Project in her honor.
These masks will be given to medical staff throughout Missouri and Illinois. Their current purpose is to be worn over N95 masks so they can be reused as often as safely possible, but if and when they reach the point where they’re completely out of N95 masks, these fabric masks will be their primary line of defense.
Even with so many volunteers chipping in, these costs are being covered out of their own pockets, and supplies are getting critically low already. If anyone would be interested in donating supplies or money to buy supplies, that would be much appreciated. Here’s what we need:
• Flat elastic (1/8- or 1/4 inch)
• Rope elastic (2mm)
• Bias tape (1/2 or 1/4 inch)
• Flannel (for the inside of the mask)
• 100 percent cotton print fabric (fun, bright prints are very much encouraged!)
Supplies can also be sent directly to:
Donna Spears
P.O. Box 55

Stay safe, and keep being the amazing people you are!
