It is with great sadness and heavy heart that we have to share the unexpected passing of our father Omar Garcia (61yrs) on Monday, September 16, 2024. My father came from Cuba in the early 1980’s and spent most of his life in West New York, NJ. There at the young age of 18 yrs old learned the trade of baker at Marie’s Bakery in Hoboken, NJ. After over 15 yrs in the Bakery Business decided to pursue his Own Business and started his own towing company known as Omar & Son Towing. Then eventually after 10 yrs in the towing service decided to open Daysi’O Galleria Antique Shop. Finally in November of 2019 and after years of serving his community, where he married and raised his 2 sons decided to move to Fort Myers, FL with dreams of building a family business with his sons at Garcia Acres. He was a son, brother, husband, and father and leaves behind his wife of 39 yrs, and sons my brother Frankie and myself Omar Jr. My father had a great personality, sense of humor, and unconditional love for his family and friends. He would give the shirt off his back for anyone. He adored gatherings with family and friends where often he would love to roast a whole pig to enjoying his trovador and musician friends playing some Punto Cubano. Sadly, my father was unable to enjoy his last few years of life on the farm due to health issues which worsened.

My mother said goodbye to her husband of 39 years and we laid our father to rest on Saturday the 28th of September.

With all the emotional pain and stress that death brings, it is also a financial burden. We wished to raise money to help with my father’s funeral expenses, primarily to help my mother and younger brother take the time they need to mourn his loss.
