Hello Friends!
We are offering you the opportunity to participate in completing our English Club, which was started a year ago to help our eager students improve their lives by learning English and so much more!
Our school is Lycée Privé Loterana Antanifotsy (LPLA). In English: Antanifotsy Private Lutheran School. We have an English Club that is open to all students in Antanifotsy, Madagascar. The English Club students recognize the value they receive through participating in the Club. They are very motivated, enthusiastic, and engaged during English Club in their free time after school and on weekends.
When we started the club, we received donations of school supplies (pens, colored pencils, markers, etc.), English books, posters, and funds to paint the walls and to commission local carpenters to build tables and stools. Another donation installed wiring to the room and a new television for displaying media from USB storage.
This is our first GoFundMe event and will be used to complete the English Club to ensure it will be there for future generations of students.
Raising $1,000 may not seem like a lot, but to our English Club it means bookshelves, comfortable reading chairs, and a locked storage cabinet (all to be crafted by local carpenters). Also with this funding, we can secure the room with new glass and locks for the windows along with security bars on the windows and door. With any additional funds, we will add more books to our growing library. The students love the books!
We pray to be fully funded by the end of June. Work will then be completed by August. We will provide updates and pictures through this process!
