Laurie's Hope

Hi, I'm Michael and I'm raising money to obtain a vehicle with a wheelchair lift for my fiance Laurie who has Huntingtons Disease. Huntingtons Disease is a neurological disease that is similar to having ALS, Parkinson and Alzhiemers combined as a result of which she is one hundred percent disabled and requires twenty-four hour care for ADL. At present we do not own a vehicle that would provide for transportation of her wheelchair needs and are limited to using a travel chair and physically placing her in and out of her chair to the car which creates increased risk of injury. Having a wheelchair accessible van or bus would greatly improve her quality of life as well as being more practical in getting her back and forth to her numerous medical appointments. Any help that she receives would be a tremendous blessing to her and our family as it would give the ability to get out of the house to visit with family and friends as well as travel. As a disabled veteran suffering from arthritis it is increasingly difficult for me to perform the lifting that is required to transfer and transport her without a wheelchair accessible vehicle. We ask that you only give from your heart what is within your heart to give.
