So, over the last year my health has declined to the point where I'm almost bedridden most days. It's a really complicated situation, and I don't quite know how to sum it all up neatly, but in a nutshell I:
-have severe TMJ and muscle related complications from it that cause extremely painful muscle spasms
-have pretty severe GERD that has caused erosion to my esophagus
-have severe generalized anxiety
-have a sleep disorder that keeps me from being rested most of the time, which also exacerbates the other symptoms
I am in treatment for all of these conditions, but despite a lot of expensive tests and treatments, they have been very resistant to improvement and there are still a lot of unknowns as to why these things are happening. Over the last year I have essentially exhausted my (and my family's) financial capabilities in paying for these tests and treatments, and because of the severity of my condition I have been unable to attain a steady income. At present I am in a limbo of living with my parents but having no way to rise out of the hole I'm in, so I am in desperate need of outside help. Any money gained from this fundraiser will go toward medical tests and treatments (medications, appliances, doctor visits) and helping me get on stable footing so I can eventually find medical and financial stability, as well as gainful employment.
At the moment, the most urgent medical needs are for visits to my orofacial pain and sleep specialist and my GI specialist, as well as potential appliances such as a CPAP machine for apnea. Anything you can give is greatly appreciated, no matter how little. I'm honestly not used to asking for charity and don't really know how much to ask for, but $2k will be a good place to start so I have a way to continue treatment. I am currently still on my parents' insurance, and the yearly deductible is $6k. I don't know if I will need that much this year, but at the current trajectory it's very possible. Meeting that deductible would be ideal and would give my parents a little breathing room to not have to worry about bills that they cannot afford.
