Wheelchair Van Maintenance

Donation protected
I am an in home care provider and have been for about four years now. I got into the business after my mother died of Alzheimer’s disease. I was her sole care provider so I ended up hiring a Home Care company to sit with mom a couple of hours a week so I could get some shopping done for the week. After mom died the company I hired offered me a job. I needed work so I decided to try it.
It turns out that was one of the best thing I ever did for myself. It gave me an income, and helped me with a lot of emotional problems I developed when I was taking care of mom. I decided to stick with it.
One of the things that I have learned as a care provider is that transportation is a very large issue. Especially for someone living in a rural environment. Getting medical transportation to and from hospitals and Doctors offices is available, but public transportation is an iffy proposition at best. And, transportation for things like going out for lunch or dinner, going to a movie or concert, or anything just for fun is nearly imposable. In the evenings it IS imposable. Public transportation ceases to exist.
Also, since we are rural, there is no private transportation options available. In the area I live and work there are few taxi services or car rental companies, and none of them have anything that is wheelchair assessable.
That is the reason that I am trying to get the funding for a Wheelchair Van. So I can provide my clients, and other clients in the company I work for, the opportunity to get away. To a movie. To a concert. To dinner on a special occasion. Just to get out of the house and get away.
Im not trying to start a business of my own here. If there was enough demand for what i want to do, there would already be wheelchair accessible taxis or rentals available. All I want to do is give a some of people in my area a little more flexibility and fun in their life.
As for the $40,000.00 goal that I have set, that is a best case scenario. That is what I would need to get a brand new 2014 Mini Van conversion. It is much more likely that I will settle for (and be very happy with) a good used reconditioned van. They run anywhere from $20,000.00 up.
Please help me help someone else. Someone with limited ability to get out and do the fun things that we sometime take for granted, just because they are confined to a wheelchair.
And I'm not asking for you to give a lot if you can't afford it. The large donatoins sure are nice, but i would be just as happy for people to give $5.00, if thats what you can afford. Twenty $5.00 donations is $100.00.
They all add to the pot!

Thank you!
