Rocket’s Recovery
Donation protected
On 2/5/18, Nick’s dog, Rocket, jumped his backyard fence and was hit by a car. The car did not stop and Rocket was found barely responsive with severe head trauma by San Diego Animal Services. Rocket was transported by and stabilized at the Humane Society before being taken to the Doggie ER for critical care.
Rocket suffered a skull fracture, nose/snout fracture, and a tension pneumothorax. He is spending his second night in the ICU. Rocket is responding well to treatment and we are hopeful he will come home tomorrow to continue his recovery.
Not only is Rocket a beloved member of the family, but he is also a certified service dog as Nick is a disabled veteran.
As you can imagine, the emergency vet bills are astronomical. Any size donation is greatly appreciated. All donations over the cost of Rocket’s recovery will be donated to the San Diego Humane Society, who ultimately saved Rocket’s life.
