"TAP"ed Out Driver Thanksgiving
Some of the most vulnerable people in Collin County depend upon TAPS to get groceries, visit the doctor and go to work. Due to poor leadership, funding and lack of accountability, the TAPS has provided inconsistent and nonexistent service. This places the health, job security and freedom of our neighbors in jeopardy. The elderly, disabled and working poor in our community deserve better, but they are not the only victims.
Over the last several months, TAPS has been unable to make payroll to pay their drivers. Not only does this bring the transportation system to a grinding halt, it places financial stress upon the very people who have been entrusted with the care of our neighbors.
We need your help! Let's show the TAPS drivers that their work and care for our neighbors is valued, even if TAPS and our local leadership refuse to value it. We want to provide a gift card for Thanksgiving dinner supplies for all of the TAPS drivers in McKinney (and if we can, Collin County). Please make a donation and support those who care for our neighbors.
All gifts will be distributed through Grace Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a 501c3, and our friends from Fellowship of Freethought.
