Caring for Chris
Donation protected
My brother Chris Hatfield, went to the ER on August 23rd 2020 for severe shoulder pain. They quickly realized that he was suffering from pneumonia and his oxygen level was dangerously low. He was immediately admitted to the ICU, and with all of the Covid 19 protocol, his wife Stacy, sadly was not allowed to be with him.
Chris is a diabetic with many obstacles to overcome for recovery. He needs a kidney and pancreas transplant. His doctors have started dialyses and are hopeful that this will help in his recovery.
The medical issues are scary enough, but then to add the financial burdens, it is overwhelming. Stacy has recently had to take unpaid family leave in order to help with Chris's care as he is legally blind and depends on his wife's care.
To put it lightly, as that is what I do- This is going to be a marathon and not a sprint, so we will continually update you on his fighting journey. Our hope with this is to be able to help, even a little, to give them some financial grace as they continue to focus on Chris's health and recovery.
