Hard Luck Bar
You know who we are. We’ve spent the better part of a decade trying to create a space where everybody feels welcome. Our unique booking policy made Hard Luck a place for a wide range of musical genres and a home to diverse groups of people. We’ve fostered local bands, hosted international acts, and have helped launch musical careers. We don’t need to go into how deeply Covid-19 has impacted all of us, but we do need your help.
The Hard Luck Bar is hoping to raise $35,000 in order to cover accumulating rent and other
expenses while we are closed during the
COVID-19 shutdown.
The costs of hanging onto a business that’s
essentially been shuttered for the better part of 9 months have grown too great. Every attempt
to pivot to another model just forces us to incur additional costs and invariably have ended with more lock down measures making any recovery
impossible.
We are making the incredibly difficult decision
of asking you to help us out. This was not an easy decision to come to, but we honestly don’t see any way to maintain a space for live music when we’re in a pandemic and restricted from doing what we went into business to do in the first place.
If you believe in live music and you believe in the future of this city, please consider donating. Even just sharing this post can go a long way in
preserving some of the cultural landscape that’s been decimated by this pandemic and the governments anemic response to the economic needs of this city and its citizens.
