Help Support the Biondo Family

Please help the Biondo family in their time of need. Gia is a smart, pretty and funny nine year old. She loves her Shopkins and playing with her friends. Last year Gia was diagnosed with childhood Chronic Pancreatitis. This is a heredity disease that runs strong in her family. Gia has spent may days and nights in the hospital with excruciating abdominal pain. It has kept her away from school and just being a kid. Her mom recently found a group of families with similar stories about their kids and it lead her to Cincinnati Children's Hospital. There Gia was to be evaluated for a possible procedure to have her pancreas removed and her enzymes from the pancreas put into her liver. However during the consult doctors found things that concerned them and Gia was than admitted into the hospital. She had an ERCP done and they found a very large leak in the tail of Gia's pancreas which was there for quite some time , causing a massive amount of pancreatic juices to flow freely around her entire abdominal cavity . These enzymes were highly inflamed and dangerous . They went in and placed a plastic stent in to stop the leak and the draining. However, after 2 weeks in the hospital, she still cannot walk or sit up. Her belly is expanding and they are unsure of where or what the fluid is from. She is scheduled for another biopsy this week. Gia's condition continues to change everyday. Mom and Gia have been in the hospital since October 15th and they are unsure of when they will return home. Because they are so far away it is hard for family and friends to be there physically for the Biondo's. Hotel expenses, gas and food are becoming a rising cost. Please consider helping this wonderful family in their time of need.
