JOSHUA NORWOOD ON THE ROAD TO RECOVERY

Joshua Norwood was admitted to the hospital on April 23, 2021, battling a COVID-19 diagnosis. The virus severely attacked his lungs, liver, and kidneys causing damage and heavy inflammation. In order to preserve his life, Joshua was placed in a medically induced coma and intubated for five weeks with a doctor’s report of only a 10% chance of survival. During this process, Joshua underwent a tracheostomy which prohibited his speech.

As a result of the tracheostomy, the health report became even less promising, all the while devasting his loved ones. Doctors were certain that due to the lung damage and the trachea procedure that Joshua wouldn’t be able to speak or sing the way he did prior to his COVID-19 diagnosis. So much of Joshua’s life, livelihood, and ministry has been tied to his singing and using his voice to bring hope to thousands all over the world. Despite the bad news, his family, friends, and church family managed to hold on to their faith as they waited in confident hope for Joshua to regain consciousness.

In the meantime, Joshua’s declining health condition had a miraculous, global impact initiating prayers and support from all over the world. Joshua’s close family and friends joined forces with the entire Saddleback Church Family and various other ministries in the U.S. and internationally in fervent prayer for Joshua’s complete healing and recovery.

After three long months of being admitted to I.C.U., several rehabilitation and acute care facilities, Joshua survived COVID-19 by God’s grace! On July 16th, he was finally released to return home. Joshua is currently on the road to recovery and rehabilitation. This process has and will continue to incur medically associated and other ongoing expenses.
