A light in the dark

To all who have found their way here, this is my story:

My name is Gabby, some of you may know me as Lux or Heavenslight depending on where we have interacted and though it is very difficult for me to say this, I need your help.

I have struggled all my life with Crohns disease as well as many other conditions that have rendered me in a state of constant chronic pains. I have lost jobs, friends, loved ones and many opportunities in my life because of these issues. I am now faced with yet another intestinal issue that is going to require an invasive surgery and 6 week minimum recovery period, I've had to go on medical leave from my job due to the constant pain I am in daily. The fistula that my body has developed due to my chronic illness has made it extremely difficult to function due to extreme levels of pain and fatigue. A fistula is a small tunnel that connects an infected gland inside the body to an opening on the skin.

This surgery should help with the pain but it does mean I'm going to have an extended medical leave while I recover; I'm going to need help keeping my bills in check as well as paying for the part of the surgery (or tools I'll need for recovery) that my insurance isn't able to cover.

Those of you familiar with me know that this is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do; asking for help is something I've always hated yet I am always one of the first people to reach out and offer it. I'm an incredibly hard worker in all parts of life; I'm crafty, creative, and always try to help where I can. But today I'm asking you to help where you can, even if all you can do is share this around- every little bit helps and is appreciated beyond what words can articulate.
