Miracles for Madison

Hi friends! I am starting this fundraiser for a long time childhood friend of mine, Beth Dugus (Griffith) and her 4 year old daughter, Madison. I have known Beth and her family all my life. Her daughter was born on November 4, 2019 with a congenital heart defect. She had her first open heart surgery at 7 days old and a second open heart surgery at 10 weeks old. On April 8, 2020, Madison was placed on the transplant list for a new tiny heart and I am VERY HAPPY to report that on June 6, 2020 Madison received that heart! Madison getting her new heart was just the start of her journey. She’s had many hospital stays. Too many to count. So many procedures that I couldn’t name them all. With that being said, her family is in need again. She’s been hospitalized for 3 weeks now and no end in sight. Her tiny lungs are being affected this time. She’s about to have to go through another open heart surgery to repair a narrowed pulmonary vein as well as to get a biopsy of her lungs to see what further care can be offered. Mention of transfer to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia was said today. With that being said, the family’s financial burden is about to become a true reality. Madison’s father is her caregiver and isn’t able to get paid while she’s hospitalized. That means the family is down to 1 income. Not to mention, the continuing care she will need at home. In these types of fragile and devastating situations, I believe the best way to show support is through generosity. Please consider making a donation in honor of Madison and her family.
